Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
And, "The Bonus Unit of the Day" is...
Somewhere I read that late in the war, the Soviet troops, which lacked a dedicated man portable anti armor weapon, like the Bazooka, Piat, etc... made good use of any Panzerfaust weapon that they can capture (and as Panzerfaust were made in the millions, I suppose they would have been able to capture no small quantity of them). So here is a Soviet Panzerfaust anti-tank team...
I hope you find some use for this unit!

Great work Guille
You really spoil the custom e-file users. For whatever reason, it is most unfortunate that the vanilla e-file is so light on units for the minor countries. The Polish units are definitely a nice addition.
I suppose if you can make a few more Sov units, that Akkula will be able to present a very decent set of units for the player to chose from.
So what's next up, a T-35 ?

I think Guille is secretly working on a set of "soccer" panzers
That should explain the delay of certain requests

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Guys: Thanks for all the positive feedback and nice words I have read here! I am immensely glad you like my job...
Here is an outline of what I am up to when I find time for my favourite hobby:
- Finishing the Pz II Schiwimmkorper (I like this unit very much!) --> Also to give BNC stuff to use in his mod(s).
- Some Soviet units that a bunch of people is asking for... T-54/55, units uploaded by Rezaf from WoT, a T-43 I made by myself, the SU-76i mentioned in another thread, the Finish BT-42, ...aaand a "secret" early war Soviet vehicle (surprise!)
(also, there is a list given to my by Akkula)
- The other "big project" in the make: The "Rifleman '39" Pack... I am working on the UK units, next I plan to make a Belgian infantry units pack (Ithink this would be smaller, but it will add some more variants to the very few ones already available). Suggestions are, of course, welcome.
- As the Soviet Naval Infantry was a good hit, I would like to expand that unit set: a HW unit variant is planned...
"So many projects, so little time"...
NIkivdd: Thanks for your nice words. I am happy you liked the Polish units, I put some effort to make them.
BNC: Rarely a project or unit asked by people here is "forgotten"... I try to keep record of all that it is requested by the forum members, the problem is, the lack of time (this last two or three months were very work intensive in "real" life) Eventually everything is going to be delivered... Another "problem" is I always choose quality (the best as I can, some tries on certain projects really suck, but you people don't see them!) over quantity. So, I prefer to release one "good" unit, instead of a lot of "not good" units. Also, I try hard to take note of users/modders/gamers feedback, after all, they are the ones that give use to what I upload here.
Ballermann: Thanks for the images and link... A most interesting page!
Soccer: I was amazed to see how the Holland team steamrolled the good Spanish one! I think Holland deserves to be world champion, may be this is the chance? (Note: I am from Argentina)
By the way, now that I plan to have some more spare time, I will show to you guys another "hobby" project of mine: My own "Autobahn Kreuzer" which is my trusty urban means of mobility...
I was slowly building and tuning it, and I always have new ideas... Check it out:

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Here is another Soviet unit, made by request of BNC for one of hid current works... The T-54-1 tank. This one is the very early version of this model, with a turret resembling the one used by the T-34-85. It was produced in 1946 and entered service in 1947. I include a drawin showing the succesive versions of this tank for you to see...
This icon was made using parts from icons uploaded by Rezaf, Flakfernrohr and also parts from some internet found images and drawings. Thanks for the support!:-)
Enjoy!

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Use of captured weapons sounds very likely - I found a Russian made series about wartime weapons on Youtube recently and they were describing use of captured 81mm rounds in their 82mm mortars. According to the episode on anti tank rifles, they made up for a lack of bazooka-type weapons by using massed AT rifles. At up to 15 rounds a minute for some models you can start to believe that you'd cause enough damage to tracks, observation ports, etc to force a tank to pull back if you had enough people firing. Some of the shots of Panzer III with holed armour are pushing credibility a bit, but I was relying on the subtitles and might have missed something.guille1434 wrote:Somewhere I read that late in the war, the Soviet troops, which lacked a dedicated man portable anti armor weapon, like the Bazooka, Piat, etc... made good use of any Panzerfaust weapon that they can capture

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Captainjack: The Soviets always used numbers to make up for the lack of stuff... The AT rifles they used, besides being very good weapons and relatively cheap to produce, fired a very powerful 14,5 mm round, so I think they could be damaging to a Pz III lateral lower armor (provided the vehicle lacked additional side skirts) if fired from close distance. Besides, given that you can find here any type of equipment as "German captured" icons, I thought it was fair to give the Soviets the possibilty to use some german captured weapons.
T2_2112: The "playable" icon for that railroad capable tank would be a very nice addition!
