Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Of course! I was forgetting the US units... By the way I would like to try to make a US Lmg unit with Browning BAR automatic rifles, it is one of my favourite infantry weapons!
Completely agree with you... Bridge Engineers, Combat Engineers and Mountain troops should also have their '39 version without sub-machine guns.
Here are the Soviet Conscript icons with three figures.

Wow, nice infantry variants Guille!. I really like the Conscript 43 concept.

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Thanks for the original Conscript variants!
I've attached the missing riflelized inf/eng icons that I'd still like.
To be clear again about the desired submachine-gun '43 variants if you can spare the time: bridge engineers and mountain troops with a submachine-gun soldier.
My bridge engineers and combat engineers are of the same upgrade serie to switch occasionally their job, that's why I also have created bridge engineer '43 variants. It's just a nice way to distinguish between 39 and 43 variants, no matter if SMGs were ever issued there or not.
If you are still up to do cavalry '43 icons with SMG, I'd welcome them too.

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Ok, this is all about the "Big Rifleman Unit Pack"... I have compiled Horst's uploaded list with the icons I found in my collection and filled a subfolder, suitable called "Riflemen '39" with approx. one hundred infantry, combat engineers and related icons in order to make "all rifle" derivations from them. There are icons from a lot of nations including China, Japan, Norway, Spain Republicans and Nationalists, etc... This folder, does not include the Cavalry icons (which will be upgraded with smg weaponry), which are more or less thirty more units... And then, there remains the Bridge engineers units also to be re-made with sub-machine guns, to show a later war version of that unit... (more on those later).
The idea is to release partial packages of converted icons, I think grouped by nation, or group of nations, because in the meantime, I would like to give answer also to other, older requests from other users. So, this is the beginning of a big project...
As as teaser, here is and old but good icon (author is unknown to me) of German Ski Infantry, which is now available in early war and late war versions.

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Thinking about the Bridge Engineer icons, I never liked much how the dark background of the pontoon trailer somewhat "obscured" the standing soldier figure... Which, in consequence, is not readily visible if one makes a version with a rifle (like the current one) or with any other weapon (i.e. a sub-machine gun). To give this "problem" a solution, I tried to 2redesign" the icon to address this issue, and also maintaining a "Vanilla" look. One possibility is to reduce the trailer size to 85% and moving it a little up, so it no more acts like a background to the troops figures. On the plus side, the figures position inside the icon frame is not changed, so the icon is still compatible with the vanilla game bridge engineer animation file.
This idea would be look like the icons showed here (if selected as part of the "Rifleman '39 Pack", these graphics will be the base icons suitable to make several nation uniform looking units). Also, I will update my "Three tier switchable Bruckenpiniere" icons with this concept.
What do you people think about them?

Great project You are working on Guille
Regarding the Brückenpioniere, I like the new icons much better than before. The only thing to criticize would be the open space between the trailers front wheel and the 98k of the front soldier, but to use the original animations outweighs this by far!

Andor: I know that the open space there does not look good, but this is the way I came up to clearly show the soldier weapon...
Ballermann: Thanks for pointing out the credit for that icon. Credits due to VPaulus for a very nice looking unit!

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
The new bridge engineer style is okay. I bet it's much easier to copy&paste things with the white/transparent background.
The boat looks unusually high in the purchase screen compared to all the other icons, but on the map later fine enough.

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Ok, it seems we are approaching to a "definitive" version... In this graphic, the Barge trailer and standing soldier figure were moved down three pixels... I think the icon has a more "compact" look (i.e. not so "spread"). Also it seems like the gap between the wheel and the soldier rifle is less offensive to the player eye, and may be it will not show very high in the purchase units screen
Besides, the shadows projected by the soldiers in the right view were corrected.
As I moved one of the firing soldiers, I made new animation files, modifying the vanilla game ones... See next thread

Another request - and it's a Sd.Kfz. again. This time I would kindly ask for a Sd.Kfz.10/1 (the original towing unit). The icon I have is definitely wrong - the size is too small, and the vehicle itself is no Sd.Kfz.10 but looks like a longer Sd.Kfz.11.
Many thanks in advance

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
How about the one I use with the Battlefield: Europe mod? The original icon was made by bebro (which itself is based on the vanilla SdKfz 10/4) I just modified the colour of the canvas a bit to better match the rest of the units:
