Hi, my name is CutthroatNomad, well Josh actually and I am just getting into FoG. I am from the Toronto area and wondering if there are any players in the area? I am have decided to do a Rise of Rome Later Ptolemic army. I ordered from Old Glory and hopefully I will be getting it sometime in the near future. I have a local historical group that meets but it is quite a trek out there to get involved and I need some motivation in keeping with the hobby. So please if anyone knows of a store or group that is supporting FoG let me know by replying to this thread or sending me a message here.

Cheers,
J

P.S. I am planning on playing in 15mm but I wouldn't mind trying a larger scale.

I don't know of any stores or such...but I now have a Later Republican & an Ancient Spanish armies in 25mm. Depending on just where you are, I could maybe head your way sometime to try a game.

Phil or 'korvus'...if you see this...i'd be interested in trying a game or two sometime if you are interested.

I'd be interested in hearing from Toronto groups / players too. My copy of the rules is still en route, and most of my wargaming stuff is in the UK rather than here, but I'll undoubtedly be buying a 15mm medieval army over summer (though it might take me a while to paint them up...).I'd be up for observing others play for a while though, to get the hang of the rules. It's been a long time since I've done any ancients gaming (apart from 1 or 2 DBM games before we decided to go for Napoleonics instead). Prior to that, I used WRG 6th.

Hello lads.

I know a few players here, in Toronto.
We all play 25mm armies, (I'm working on a 15mm -- but sissy-scales aren't encouraged!).
We don't really have a club, just a few friends who go from house to house.

We are all quite novice, I've played 4 games so far.
Some of the guys post up here, Check the AARs section.

* send an email to pezhetairoi@hotmail.com, and perhaps we can get a game in sometime, or even a (mini) tournament.

Ha it's a little late but I thought I would add to this thread. :D

I'm based in Toronto and definately interested in learning FoG in 15mm - 25's are great but costly. I also think 15mm's look better as a 'battlescape' but agree that painted 25mm look better individually. I also have a few 15mm DBM armies which fit well in FoG - finishing my Seleucids now, Med German/Teutonics, as well as two or three biblical armies. Getting time to play is my challenge but I do want to learn to play.

Also, there is a figure gaming club in Toronto - the Hammers of the North. There may be more than one but this is the one which I know of and am a member of. Members play GW games as well as FoW, DBA, DBR and others including in the future FoG. For example, we have had some great 15mm DBA tourneys etc. with 12+ people etc last year.

The club is friendly group, and the board is good place to make contacts and organize friendly games as well. We don't meet that often (once every couple of months) but try to be a center for contacts etc. You can check out the web site at: http://groups.msn.com/HammersoftheNorth/ and you are more than welcome to join if over 18.

Hope this helps you and others.
