Abba de Montecassino

In the Montecassino scenario I can not capture Abba de Montecassino. After defeating my opponent I am unable to place one of my units on the hex. Why can't I capture this space?

The Abba de Montecassino hex is a high mountain hex. It can only be entered by an infantry unit WITHOUT any transport assigned to it. If all your infantry units got transports you can use the auxiliary French mountaineer units to conquer it.

P.S: I moved the thread to the general Panzer Corps forum as it's not a technical issue.

Or just disband the Transport ?

Is it possible to disband the transport mid-scenario? I thought you could only do it in the setup phase?

pretty sure you have to get on to a town hex and "upgrade" to nothing

Thinking from experience this is probably wrong. I'm pretty sure but if someone knows the answer don't hesitate to tell me.

I am pretty sure this and using an air transport option are the only ways to abandon a transport in the middle of a scenario. Both leads to you losing the transport and having to replace it later. This is why i suggested to use the auxiliary units. There on the map anyway so may as well put them to a use. :)

No worries. Exactly the same happened to me when i played the map for the first time. I was quite confused for a while how to capture that bloody objective. Luckily i had one of my mountaineer units nearby anyway and noticed he can capture it. :)
