No, it's Battle Troops only, so Light Troops are not included.

Re: Derby World Teams 4th/5th October 2014
Another question re pool 2 ...
Does the restriction mean "at least 50% of foot troops must be average/poor and at least 50% of mounted must be average/poor" (this is what I think it means)
Or does it mean "at least 50% of foot and mounted (i.e. together) must be average/poor"?
Moro's question is a good one too. Personally I hope the restriction applies to battle troops.
At first sight the restrictions on pools 1 and 2 make them look really interesting periods.
Thanks
Martin

Fair point.rbodleyscott wrote:True, although you probably don't get more variety within the tournament by having tighter themes, but you do get more variety between one tournament and another - which is good.martinvantol wrote:There's no virtue in allowing all lists to be chosen. 'More choice' paradoxically means you end up with less real variety.
I think the growing trend of trying to vary the theme and restrictions is starting to produce more interesting competitions, by the way.

Ok, let's see if I can clear this up with some examples.Another question re pool 2 ...

If you want 3 BGs of Superior Mounted Battle Troops you must also have 3BGs of Average/Poor Mounted Battle Troops. Light Horse or Foot are not included in this calculation.
If you want 3 BGs of Superior Foot Battle Troops you must also have 3BGs of Average/Poor Foot Battle Troops, not including Commanded Shot or Artillery. Light Foot, Dragoons or Mounted are not included in this calculation.

Kevin, Later Imperial spanish have tercios, but their start date is after the end of the theme.kevinj wrote:I have submitted the theme details to the organisers and they, together with the other competition details, have now been published on the Derby website. Pool details are:
Pool 1. Age of the Tercio. 1534-1600. 850 Points max.
Wars of Religion: Later Imperial Spanish.

Pool 1 looks boring .... in a clash between ET a little luck/unluck can decide the match (but I'm going to play pool 3 so doesn't matter for me
)
Pool 2 : great idea, love It
Pool 3: I'd suggest to add Venetian colonial

It seems to me that Vasa Swedish too have tercios, but their start date is after the end of the theme...

Mattel, it will be great to see you at Derby. Will there be a team from Italy? That would be great.
With 3 pools we have the chance to try new things and hopefully everyone can find something they will enjoy.

Even if the number of army lists in Pool 1 is rapidly shrinking again.kevinj wrote:With 3 pools we have the chance to try new things and hopefully everyone can find something they will enjoy.

Re: Derby World Teams 4th/5th October 2014
Based on feedback received I have submitted some corrections which have now been published.
Pool 1. I have extended the end date to 1605 to allow the Vasa Swedish to use all of their Tercios. It was feasible to use the army before but now it has the added allure of Poor LTs. I have removed the Later Imperial Spanish as I realised that I had misread the start date.
Pool 3. I have added Later Venetian Colonial as it is appropriate geographically and isn't seen very often.

Re: Derby World Teams 4th/5th October 2014
Ok, now Britcon is out of the way this is the next one on my organisational schedule. Some people have already informed me that they have entered/intend to, but I'd be grateful to know who's planning to go as the entries don't come to me. So, unless you've already emailed me to confirm entrance, I'd be grateful for a quick message to let me know if you're planning to come.
Cheers,
Kevin

Fredric,
You can try either the Travelodge or Premier Inn website for cheap accommodation.

"Habsburg Austrian Imperial (Relief of Vienna and aftermath option ONLY)" - you do realise that you'd have to take either only 2 generals or field some of the (4 compulsory) artillery as light in order to fit even just the minima in this list into 750 points... ?
