Panzer Corps in WW1

Post by MH77 »

Since the release of Panzergeneral in 1994, i've been waiting for a similar game about world war one.

History Line 14-18 (aka "The Great War: 1914-1918") was a phantastic game a its time (i really liked the mixture of game and information about the war; the newspaper-articles and messages between the missions were entertaining as well als informative), but it "just" featured more or less realistic real life units in unrealistic fantasy-battles.
Besides, complete "unit branches" (infantry and artillery for example) just differed in color; there was no difference between a french Canon de 75 mle 1897 and a german 7,7 cm Feldkanone 96 n.A, there was just "light artillery".

So, i think it's time for a new, more realistic approach, for a Panzer Corps - like game about the first World War that features realistic units in authentic battles and focuses not only the western front.

I enjoyed "Commander: The great war", but the game experience is quite different from Panzer Corps; one can't compare these two games.

Hello Joe,

thanks for your reply.

Yes, i've seen and also played this mod and it's quite remarkable what BiteNibbleChomp & Co. are doing.

But like most modders, they have only limited ressources at their disposal, naturally.

So, I would very much like to see what kind of game The Lordz or The Artistocrats would develop.
