The ZOC stops you the first time you enter it. If you start in one you can move though it 1 hex a turn.

His irritation might come from the hex field structure. Its not always obvious that an enemy may engage a unit where the adjacent 2 hexes left and right slightlz in front of the units hex are occupied by own units, but if one counts corretly the free hex in front of the engaged unit is the first ZOC for the 2 adjacent units.

Or it might stem from air units not affected by ZOC ( the good old PG times where that was still the case - made finishing off damaged flyers SOOOO much easier ).

Regards,
Thorsten

Thanks guys. I used to use zoc a lot in pg to my advantage especially to protect weakened and transported units.just have to make tighter formations. I do think that the game fairly does not apply this to aircraft.By the way I love the switchable 88's. That was my biggest complaint for pg.

You can change the settings for air, ground and naval ZoC easily by editing the gamerules.pzdat file if you play under the 1.20 rules or the gamerules114.pzdat if you prefer playing under the old 1.14 rules. You can change a lot of other settings there as well.
