Suggestion for fluid game play..

Post by pomakli »

I just finished the Encirclement June 1944 – the fourth scenario in the Op. Bagration campaign.

Both battle groups, on the north and south sides of the map, has not enough transport vehicles at the beginning of the scenario. On the north side there are 4 vehicles for 5 units and at the south side there are 5 vehicles for 6 units.

In my opinion, considering that the scenario map is not a small one, the number of the vehicles could be equal the units, so that the game play would be fluid. Just an idea…

Only US forces were likely to have sufficient motorized transport and logistical support.

Also, consider that in encirclements, as in penetrations, the armor sought to press forward but the footsoldiers slogging behind could only move so fast. There is a rich tension between speed and coordination. I'd agree that, as a scenario matter, troops that simply won't get into meaningful action or defend anything of significance are just there for historical decoration.
