New Pass Through

Post by deadtorius »

One question about the conditions for passing through a square with cavalry. If by some miracle a cav unit ends the combat spent but otherwise steady would they still pass through? Spent being the same as disordered and all that...

Only if their cohesion state was also 'disordered' ? 'Spent' isn't a cohseion state so isn't the same as 'disordered' but rather just has the same effect for combat/shooting etc.

Receiving one hit from the combat would acheive the result you describe; no cohesion loss, but spent.

Yah thats kind of what I had thought but just wanted a confirmation, thanks. Not likely we will see much cavalry Passing through then, unless the square has been knocked down prior to the charge.

We find that it happens quite a lot.
The infantry normally get either 4 dice against the cavalry (assuming no flank supports).
If the cavalry have rear support this reduces to 3 dice.
The infantry hit on a 4 or 5 if against shock cavalry.

1 hit is probably the most likely outcome for a square without flank support, so we often have spent cavalry passing through isolated squares.
