Good question. Sadly we have no rules for guidance for this situation other than the GJS rules.jcb989 wrote:Question to the GM: If we can get P-diddy to confirm that there are only 5 turns remaining (does he mean then they were on Turn # 8 displayed?), and the foe is wiped out and he can show screen shots, should that not be considered a concluded game, if his opponent walked away? I think a restart would be a reward to the Germans for their man having walked away from the fight.. food for thoughtprotectivedaddy wrote:I'm assuming this means I get awarded the 17-0 victory as that was the likely outcome anyways.
If we are to follow this rule PD should be awarded a 17-0 win. That's fair to PD. But it's not fair to KingT who replaces LM, as KingT wouldn't be allowed to play all six games. On the other hand KingT replaces LM because LM don't have time playing his remaining games and turns in started games. And as the game in question had just a few turns left, I think it's fair to say PD should be awarded a win.7.65 Premature surrender. Neither player may surrender a battle until it is concluded and its results, from battle or through negotiation, have been confirmed by both sides. Premature surrender results in automatic dissolution of the surrendering player's BG, unless a negotiated terms can be agreed.
My suggestion is that PD and KingT play the game anyway, if not just for fun, and PD got to prove he is the master of this map regardless of opponent. Should PD win there's nothing further to discuss, should PD be defeated we make a note in the table telling the results of both games. Would this work for now?
I would also like to remind everyone of these GJS rules:
This is just a game and the primary purpose is to have fun. Of course, fun could involve winning...10.1 GJS'44 is just a game. It does not involve personal injury, money, mortgages, starvation, pestilence, hurricanes, earthquakes or tsunamis... Astonishingly, any reference to war is wholly simulated.
10.2 Involvement in the GJS'44 game means you're signing up to have fun as your primary purpose. Rarely, campaigns may occasionally trigger less than the best in grown men. Above everything else, always remember that GJS'44 is a game.
