Why did I fail this map?
I am playing the GC41 Demyansk pocket map. I exported all of the supply planes back and unloaded them. I not only held my airfields but took all of the enemy airfields as well, yet I only scored a marginal victory.
What did I do wrong?

Re: Why did I fail this map?
Did you move any of the dumped units away from the airfields? One is enough and the DV is gone. Otherwise it should already trigger the DV if the last unit is still in the plane above the last airfield.

Yes, the supply planes dropped boat units that I moved into battle. So, do I need to leave them on the airfields to win?ThorHa wrote:Did you move any of the dumped units away from the airfields? I wish they would have pointed this out in the briefing.

Re: Why did I fail this map?
The briefing does say somewhere that the supply units stay on the hexes - I have previously sent them off to fight and wondered why I got MV when I'd landed five or six supplies. I think that Demyansk Pocket gives a per-turn prestige award, so if you want to wait a bit longer, park the fourth plane next to the airfield rather than on it - but if you want the DV, do remember to move it over the airfield before the last turn finishes (been there, done that...).
Does anyone know if the bridge engineers can move away and then return or if they have to stay in place at all times?

They have to stay over the airbase, and I think they have to stay in Ju-52s (not sure if they have to stay in Ju-52s however)captainjack wrote:The briefing does say somewhere that the supply units stay on the hexes - I have previously sent them off to fight and wondered why I got MV when I'd landed five or six supplies. Re: Why did I fail this map?
I always unload the planes, so the Bridgies can get some fresh air - and so that stray fighter swarms don't shred them when I'm not looking, so I know that you can get DV with the Bridgies on the ground.
Re: Why did I fail this map?
Okay, thanks for the replies guys. I think I will start the map over, it's annoying not getting my DV, but **** happens when at war.

Hi Muddy,
When you're about to win in your replay, could you make an extra save copy , and see if walking off the hex and coming back give the DV or not?
It's not really important, but now I've started thinking about it I'd be interested to know.

Will do Captain. I am pretty sure it will fail, because that is what happened to the game I just played, but I will confirm.captainjack wrote:Hi Muddy,

Re: Why did I fail this map?
Thanks for the advice about staying on the airfield. I probably would have moved them over to a close defense hex. I almost felt sorry for the conscripts by the end of this scenario.
