Smaller figures for mass effect?

Post by NZgunner »

For actual miniatures I've always liked 6mm (1-300 scale) because you get that mass effect when they are all set up.

Has anyone modded FoG to have smaller but more figures in each unit, possibly by scaling the existing ones?

I was thinking of something along the lines of the figure density used in the Napoleonic mod,

The troop graphics have always been something of disappointment for me, so I like what you're thinking.

Oh and do you have a link for the Napoleonic Mod ;)

Years ago someone was working on this Napoleonic mod but never finished it; nothing was published.

Concerning my old Napoleonic mod, sorry : this mod, at the time I made it, had no great interest encountered, and I decided to keep it as "private mod". And I erased the files next year, when I stopped to play FoG (this game was very good but... not enough time to play and to do mods (I decided to wait a possible futur "Napoleonic Field of Glory" : If it comes, I will get it and reduce the slitherine original icons to make mass effects in the game : I think the slitherine icons will be better than icons I used for the Napoleonic mod, and will give better effects on game. But the pb is : when SLitherine will give us a Napoleonic battle game ?

At this time, I am making a mod on a very old game (screen), on french forum :
http://www.leqg.org/forum/viewtopic.php ... 44#p418544

This mod create a Ancient battle wargame with little animed figurines, very slow continue time and possibility to "pause" the game with keeping control of all commands (orders to units for move or combat, scrooll screen, constitution of formations, etc)
To download the mod :

To read more about the mod :

If someone is interrestd in moding on Field Of Glory to have little graph units for similar mass effects I could provide help

If some player of Fog want to add in Field of Glory some cools ancien unit icons to create a "mass effect", I can give to him help and tips to get interessant graphs (extracted of a very old game)

I have used this old game to create a "ancien mot battle" (a sort of "animated FoG"), but the same graphs may be extracted with tools I have and may be used as I did with my Napoleonic mod to get "mass effect" in digital Field of Glory

exemple of the "mass effect" :
http://www.lignesdebataille.org/t2170p6 ... t-possible

In Field of Glory, units would be more "close-grouped" than in the image : the graphs are more little than FoG graph, so each unit could have more "figurins" = very cool mass effect to play FoG
