Retirement

Post by Furrygopher »

Is there any way to disable retirement in the game, say a variable in a file in the installation directory that can be changed?

I ask because I have done a couple of runs now and wanted to see how long it would take me with one R&D guy. clearly it would be longer than his productive life hence the question.

Hello Furrygopher,

Welcome to the SPM forums! :) At the moment there's no way to customize that via scripting, but I'll add this to the list of suggestions. Maybe we can fit it in a future update. Is there any other variable you'd like to be able to customize?

Cheers,

Top hats! We really need to have the choice to display the research teammembers with and without top hats.

It's a nice suggestion! But what do we do with the Flight Controllers and the Astronauts? Do we want top hats with them as well or something different? :)

I think the answer to that is pretty obvious. What is cooler, an astronout with a stupid helmet or an astronaut with a bigger helmet and the ability to fit a top hat in it. Also equality is important.

This thread has reminded me of a question - what is happening with the faces of the people? When are those likely to be implemented? And are they going to be real faces or artistically drawn faces (which would probably suit the style of the game better actually). I assume they will not be implemented till the game is almost ready for release, do you have any idea when that will be yet - any release date you are roughly aiming for at all at this point?

Hello nats,

The faces of the people will feature the ones that purchased the Apollo tier. Sometime before release, Boris (our UI and 2D artist) will "clean-up" the photos that were sent to us so that they get bundled in the final game. No point in doing it now, since we are still selling Apollo tiers and it's easier for Boris to do them all in one swoop. Also, I'd rather have him working on the animations for the Soviet missions now :)

As for the release date: we'll announce that once we have a clearer idea. We're working on some extra things on top of the ones we promised when we announced the 'Race to the Moon' campaign back in January, such random events, the completely revamped database and the failures system, among others. This obviously changes the development time, but I'm sure you guys will appreciate the extra features.

We'll add it to the suggestion list, then :D
