Is it only possible to switch from the East Front to the West Front in 1942? Can you choose to switch in 44 for example?

You can of course always start the West Front DLC but if you want to import your core you only will be able to import it from DLC 1941 into DLC 42/43 West. Into DLC 44 West you can only import your core from DLC 42/43 West.

This is at least the way the developers designed. You can of course always edit the files and change the import GID in the campaign.pzdat allowing to import another core. This will tho heavily imbalance the campaign as your core size in the east is a lot bigger then in the west. When importing the core from DLC41 into DLC43/44West it only allows you to take a few units and purges the rest. If you manually edit another DLCs this wont happen and you take you whole core with you making the game probably more then trivial.

EDIT: Corrected the fact that you import you core from DLC41 into DLC42/43West and NOT the one from DLC42. Thanks to Forefall for pointing my mistake to me.

i thought DLC 41 imports to DLC 42/43 West. Could be mistaken though.

Cool. I wasn't sure if you could choose to start a campaign in the West in 44.

Of course you are right. I had a brain fart yesterday while writing my topic. You are importing the core from DLC41 into DLC42/43West not from DLC42 like i wrote yesterday.
