Sliding to avoid friends

Post by richafricanus »

Sorry if this has been covered before. A unit making a retire move can slide to avoid one unit, but not enough to avoid a second. Can it slide to at least miss the one, or since it can't avoid both , it can't slide at all?

The long-standing interpretation here is that you slide to miss the first unit.

So, different from the way that FoG:Am and FoG:R work, then?

We allow a unit to slide in whatever way they can (within the 1 or 2 base limit) - as long as it can avoid passing through at least one of the friends behind.
(Unlike FOGAM and FOGR which don't let you slide at all if you can't avoid passing through at least one unit.

This gives a little flexibility in deciding which of your units must take the compulsory test for being passed through.
