Best Lengths for Measuring Sticks???

Post by Blathergut »

I have made up a couple '6s'...6MU lengths...was just wondering what lengths the old pro's out there found most useful.

I'm not exactly an old pro, but I made up a 7 MU x 40 mm card so it would do LH and Commanders' moves. With hindsight, a 7 mu x 2 mu might have been better as you can place the 2 between two BGs to check if they are in javelin range, the restricted area or foot intercept charge range.

In DBM (moves vary from 2 to 6 "MU") I used a 6 and a 4. The 6 is often a bit too long to fit in when infantry gets within charge distance. Occasionally I used a 2.

Most DBM veterans used one stick for each move distance.

I think you will find at least a 4 mu x 40 mm useful as you can lay it between BGs to check if they are within effective shooting range and arc.
