PC vs iPad version

Post by ksasaki »

So I broke down and purchased the PC game yesterday (I wanted to try the Legacy of Versailles Mod), and I must say that the PC version is amazing. You have a sleep forever for that 2 strength unit in the back that you want to leave for the rest of the battle, you have the combat predictions and combat results (I didn't know fighters had a -5 low altitude attack penalty, or that there was a +4 close defense bonus for ground units resisting air), also the +2 defense against AT guns for infantry...Also the music sounds better, like it is orchestrated or something. Not to mention the library.

Great work on the Generic Mod Enabler, that is a VERY useful tool so you don't have to keep reinstalling whenever you want to play vanilla, or you want to switch between mods.

Legacy of Versailles + Elite Units is epic. SS Kradschutzen in 1939, sign me up!!! I just opened up the first scenario in Czechoslovakia and you have 32 core and about 30 auxiliary. I can only imagine what the other 50 scenarios will be like. I'm very glad I made the plunge, but it does highlight the deficiencies of the iPad version...

Whew, that makes me feel better for not having and Ipad. I fear those beautyful tablets and their huge mass market will render laptops and PCs obsolete, and we will have less deep games.

As long as games like Total War (excluding Rome II) and Company of Heros stay around, and developers keep pumping out cash cows (Star Trek Trexels), the PC will retain its position and soar past the iPad

Don't even ask - Empire Total War is epic!

Also, Ipads don't have WWI campaigns! (I have nearly finished developing one - you people should download it on the 15th)
