Commander: The Great War 1.5.2 Official Patch releases!

Hi guys,

The Commander: The Great War 1.5.2 Official Patch is out.

To update your game simply hit "check for update" within the CTGW launcher that starts up the game for an automated download and install.

You can check if your game has been updated by afterwards checking the Credits menu, as in the top-corner you will see 1.5.2

Note! Patches are NOT incremental, so you never need any older patches, just download and install the latest patch and you are always fine.


The last official patch was version 1.5.1, if you want to track what changed, check the "View Readme" button at the end of the installer, look in your root folder for the readme text file or check the forum here:

First, thank you for the latest patch. I really enjoy this game and appreciate the support you give it.

Second: You guys really have to get the USA geography fixed.

Killington, VT is a small ski resort town. It has no political/military/industrial significance whatsoever. Yet here it's worth more than Quebec or Montreal.

Williamsburg was the capital of Virginia, until 1780 that is. In 1914-18 it was a small town just beginning to become a tourist destination ("Colonial Williamsburg"). Also, it's a little tough putting a naval base there because it is not on the water. Norfolk, Virginia was/is the main US Naval base for the Atlantic Fleet.

Atlantic City, NJ had a small Coast Guard Station but it, too, was mainly a tourist attraction at the time of WW I, not a major city or base.

So: Killington, Williamsburg and Atlantic City would make for a great summer vacation in the USA; but have no significance to US military/political/industrial capacity in the Great War, and should not be in this game.

The patch is good. But what did you do with artificial intelligence? He is now permanently out for a smoke?

"Check for update" just results in an error message, as does clicking on the link.

Maybe the server was in maintenance or so as all works here?

Still isn't working. This is a new install of C:TGW. Not sure what the cause is.

EDIT: looks like it was the settings on my new router. Seriously, Orange blows . . . However, just setting up a some rules for NAT and lowering the router firewall seems to solve the problem.

I've been having some problems with this patch - looks like none of the countries are paying maintenance costs except Germany.
