Is it possible to ask for a different, or differently coloured, troop icon for an army. As one example, in the Later Scots Isles List, the two main troop types, Islemen spearmen and axemen are difficult to distinguish. If one could be green, for example it would help a great deal.
I'm sure this is not the only army for which such requests could be made - is there a mechanism for requesting that?

Re: Changing the Icon
I feel the same way about some units. At least with the example you cite, they are different figure graphics (only sharing some blue paint of the same shade). There are several other examples where different units share exactly the same unit graphic. Examples include Almughavar spearmen vs Almughavar swordsmen, Albanian cavalry, Ordonnance Burgundian pikemen vs defensive spear, lots of MF vs LF or Cav vs LH missile troops. These instances occur to a greater degree in the later-released Army Books, giving the impression of corners being cut.
Some improvements could be made using a simple graphics editor as it's quite easy to change the colour of specific parts of an image. As for a "mechanism" for requesting this - well, there's nothing, I'm afraid. No improvements or updates to the game have been made to the game in years, even on things that pretty much everyone agrees are broken and in need of fixing (supporting rear-rank missile troops being the elephant in the room).
Part of the reason for this is that the original developer left the game and so the game is being re-constructed by another developer. So one could say that there's some light at the end of the tunnel and improvements in the game might one day be seen. However, there doesn't appear to be anyone in charge of the game or anyone showing any leadership. No-one from Slitherine has posted anything about the game on the boards for as long as I can remember.
Imagine the Field of Glory as a once-resplendent man-of-war galleon whose captain and crew have jumped ship, leaving it drifting in the doldrums, neglected, rudderless and with a broken mast. It's still a sea-worthy vessel, though, and a pleasant cruise - just not going anywhere (so maybe one could say the anchor's become entangled and stuck, too, but I might be overworking the analogy!).

Re: Changing the Icon
I have to agree about the supporting rear-rank missile troops - just saying.
As much as I appreciate any work being done on the game and not to seem like I am prying, but I am a little unclear as to how Slitherine is supporting Field of Glory. Is it a full time, paid gig for you Cothyso, or is it mostly supported by part time, or volunteer work?
Is the market share so small that devoting significant resources to updating and adding to the game not worth it?
