Re: [Video] My Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Adventure
Long-term campaign objective was achieved with a Moon Landing in 1969-but the objective deadline was until the end of 1973. This leaves us with the question: "What else can be done in this period?"

@nats: Sorry, totally forgot to answer your comment. Thank you so much for it! Maybe I should also create a video togehter with SM
We still have some time before we reach the end of the long-term objective deadline. Let's make some progress with the Apollo Program.

After the successful landing with the Gemini Direct Ascent, we're still working to improve our space program. One of our main goals is the landing on the Moon with the Apollo Program before the end of the long-term objective deadline.

Both Moon landings were successful within the long-term objective deadline. Now it's time to celebrate the success with some missions to other celestial bodies.

Is it possible to land on the Moon with the Apollo Program before 1969? I'll put it to the test.

We landed twice on the Moon, but doing a reconnaissance mission seems to be even more dangerous.

We're in good shape of achieving the current short-term campaign objectives. Unfortunately, we have to learn that a probe doesn't count as a lander.

Unbelievable! It's already the 50th episode of my SPM LP series. Unfortunately, I recognized this when I was in the post production process. So I completely missed out to celebrate it

Re: [Video] My Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Adventure
Wow! 50 videos already? Congrats! We need to hurry up and finish the game so that you can play the released version before you make the video #200!
Cheers,

Thank you! 200 episodes ... well ... might be possible, but not before the release of the second part

*removing the thick spider webs from this thread*
This episode demonstrates most of the new features added to the game in the upcoming 0.7.16 update. I've to admit that I'm really excited of adding huge boosters to small payloads.

Finally, the new version is released and a new attempt can be made to reach the Moon before we're running out of time.

Re: [Video] My Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Adventure
The new Rocket Program Feature makes it so much more meaningful to choose a booster - should I take the cheaper one or the more powerful one, that is more expensive?

It's time for the very first launch of the Vostok capsule-a mission full of unforeseen problems. Will it still be a success?

Re: [Video] My Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Adventure
Launching missions and researching new programs the same is very expensive and can even slow down the whole process. Furthermore, an unexpected high payload mass causes some additional issues.

Re: [Video] My Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Adventure
The booster for the robotic lunar flyby has finally reached a stable status and is ready for launch. Additionally, the first suborbital testflight of the Gemini capsule is ready to go, too.

Re: [Video] My Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Adventure
The progress of the space program is slowed down due to several failed missions. It's time to begin the analysis of possible issues to improve the next attempt's strategy.
Re: [Video] My Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Adventure
Yes, lunar probes are essential early on.
You don't need a lot of failures to slow things down, though, the rate of R&D improvement is very slow. All I did was space planes, sputnik and then Vostok, it took me until 1965 to get a guy orbiting the earth, and that was with cheating and reloading if I had a failure

Re: [Video] My Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Adventure
@Kyle: Yeah, it's more than just challenging right now and we're the guinea pigs to give Ignacio some feedback so that he can tweak the numbers. But, it's also quite fun to play the (unfinished) game, because every development stage is a completely new experience - so I enjoy my failures
We're running out of time to achieve the landing on the Moon, but there's still a chance to pull off a miracle.
