Bug ? - Lorraine Schlepper

Post by dickesKind »

Hey Dudes,

I have but in a game vs Treetom on "Woods".
My Lorraine Schlepper refuses to shoot barrage for two or three turns now. I don't see the reason.
Have a look at the screenshot.

Greetings...

Treetom just told me that the Lorraine Schlepper needs some turns until it can shoot again.
Wasn't used to this. Should be mentoined somewhere. Or did I oversee something?

No matey, your opponent is correct, it's not mentioned anywhere you just get use to it after playing with them first time around.

Hi man,

this should not be the way to play a game. Anything "special" about a scenario should be communicated to the players.

A good point, and I agree. But protectivedaddy was just trying to help you out. He certainly didn't write the scenario.
I think the best way to describe our operations to date is that they have violated every recognized principle of war.

Hi!

Sorry, I am not a native speaker, and I am sorry if I got the wrong tone.
I appreciate his comment and yours and of course I don't blame him for the problems I have with the scenario.
I hope you know what I mean. I just wanted to "connect" to his comment.

No problem. I find your comments well thought out and to the point. 8) What is your native language? Deutsch?

Most of the on-board artillery units (Lorraine, Sturmpanzer, neb's, US 105's) do need a turn or more to 'reload". some of the others (wespe, 25lber and bishops) do not and generally can fire every turn.

Not sure if there is a list of all of the SP uints and their rate of reload?

No, they are all buried in the squads.csv's. That's why for RTT I just brought the exceptions into line. The determination between the two groups was too random. The only exception I made was for the French 75 (coming up in RTT) and the US 75s. They have a significantly higher ROF than the rest.

But on a bigger issue, this is where I wholeheartedly agree with where I think dickesKind was saying. The one weakness of BA has been an inconsistency in spelling out and *describing* to the players things that occur in scenarios; unit quirks, etc. as well, a general inconsistency in some design issues (the M3 Halftrack having a higher HE rating than the M3GMC, for instance, or all the M3 Halftracks having wildly different armor ratings when in fact, they all had the same armor). It's just a haphazard approach.
