Prestige needed to get through 42 East?

Post by Dmurphy238 »

Do you need a boatload of prestige to get through (without losing a lot of your core units) the 42 East campaign? I had a lot going in but now am at Storming Stalingrad and after "powering up" in the deployment stage, have none left. Was progressing slowly and losing core units in Stalingrad like never before. Am I basically toast at this point and need to go back to the start and save up prestige? I have been spending too much to replenish unit strength points during the scenario but it didn't seem to cost me until I got to Russia!

This is very common problem. Many players just quit playing after 42 east. Probably you need at least 30k prestige when entering year 43 and latest equipment available.

The issue effects us all we, had it fairly easy until 42. Where we could elite replace units after building up so much prestige even during battles. However by 42 your core should have alot of 3 star plus units. The trick is to know when to elite replace units during a battle and when to give them green replacements. And whats nice is you can see what the cost is in prestige and a units experience. So I try to always give green replacements during a battle as long as I dont drop down more than 100 exp points or one star. Now some units always get elite, your main tanks for example. But many units can go green. A fighter thats been hit down to a 7 or 8, can go green for example, youd be amazed how much prestige you can save. Artillery, is another unit that can skip it during a battle and go green.

Its how I always do my replacements in battle since the opening battles in 39. As I said the trick is knowing what units to give it to, how important that unit is in your core and MUST it keep up its exp or not.
