MP Skirmish

Post by morge4 »

Noticed that in playing Meeting Engagements in MP, some of the flags appear very close to one side of the map, allowing one player to actually gain the flags very quickly...turning the game into a attack or defend. I would prefer to only see the 2 or 3 flags on the respective player edge of the map and no flags in the middle of the board. To win you must take one of the enemy flags. This would be more of a meeting engagement. Other option would be to ensure the middle flags are placed exactly in the middle of the map.

One game I have going, I was able to deploy within 1 square of the only neutral flag on the board. My opponent is going to have to fight hard against my defense I'm setting up...not a meeting engagement at all.

I will take a look at the spacing of the VPs and deployment zones for the next version. Was there a particular map type (urban, wilderness, farmland) that seemed to be a problem?

Note that the 'Symmetric' scenario type has no central flags so you can set up a game as you described. Perhaps we can come up with better names for the different scenario types.

Seen in wilderness and farmland...

So that is what symmetric means...That is exactly what I am seeking...the games played with the spacing issues were not played with symmetrical.

Thanks. :D
