Heavy Damage Indicator on Tanks and Fog of War

Post by Horvo »

I would prefer to have a red symbol of a gun with a slash through it, rather than the dazed question mark. At least for your own units.

However a question mark might be good for an enemy tank if it was combined with more fog of war. In other words if you couldn't tell by clicking on the unit what the damage was then the question mark would be better.

I would also prefer more fog of war in general, by adding some middle stage between not seeing the unit and readily identifying it. Something indicating it is a tank, but not knowing what type until you are closer or have exchanged fire with it. The To Hit values could remain the same, but you wouldn't know what the likely damage would be until you fully identified the unit. Same could work for a general infantry unit until you are closer or more fully engaged.

Just played through the first scenario and it looks pretty polished already. I did see the red overrun indicator while moving infantry in woods, when there turned out to be no unit there. Not sure if that is a bug, or just a new feature of allowing infantry to charge so to speak.

Just realized my mistake with confusing the new Dash feature for infantry units with an Assault/Overrun. Since the deep red is usually associated with attacking in this game and not movement, you might want to adjust the color to a dark green. Just my two cents.

It's not your mistake, both the Dash and Damaged icons are temporarily reusing images from elsewhere in the game and will get unique images in a future update.
