Progress with mods?
Any new developments with user mods for iPad users? (If you went down that path).
Re: Progress with mods?
Due the restrictions Apple impose on all IOs devices this will be a major task. You can only install stuff on your device via apples store it would require the development of a whole ingame mod management systems. Considering the amount of other fixes and improvements that need to be done as well i doubt this is very high on the priority list of the developers. Basically Apple products, especially the IOs devices, and moding are a difficult combination. Apples just likes to keep control of what you can install to your device and what not .. one of the main reasons they won't see a penny from me but thats offtopic.

There are no plans to allow user mods on iPad. One key reason being it uses some different data approaches than the PC.

That's sad! Hope one day you (or Apple) changes their approach with this! (APPLE SHOULD CHANGE)pipfromslitherine wrote:There are no plans to allow user mods on iPad. One key reason being it uses some different data approaches than the PC.

Re: Progress with mods?
Just to be clear, and as can be seen from the iOS version of Battle Academy, there isn't any real problem with providing downloadable content on the iPad. In this instance it is a different implementation approach that has made it not possible to support mods on iPad.

Re: Progress with mods?
Well obviously you can always implement a mod manager and then let the mods download as inapp "purchase" but its a lot of work. On the other hand if Apple would stop playing the Overlord and let the IOs device owner access their files like normal computer do you could use the same way as on the PC to mod it and there would be no problem at all.
