Post by CLAVDIVS »

We had this last night in a game, can the Musket & Regimental gun unit fire on the 2 base Cavalry unit with General please.

As it is in range of the 4 bases of musket and the regimental gun and in arc as well please

If it's in range and arc what is there to prevent it shooting?

You only need to draw a straight line from each of your bases front corners to any one point of the enemy battlegroup, even if it's a side edge (see p108 LoS 1st paragraph).

Looking at your picture, whilst it's tight, it looks like the front left hand corner can easily draw a straight line to the enemy BG.Your cavalry would need to be at least a couple of extra inches forward to block the line of sight.

You measure from the position of the actual shooting base, not the position of the hypothetical base that defines whether they are "in arc".

It's the same for "in range". So, troops can be "in arc" but not "in range". Sometimes...!
