Newbie Question
Just got FOG and am enjoying it so far. Just played a couple of battles and have one question. How do I get my troop to stand still and no go chasing all over the map after the enemy? Many times I want them to stand fast where I put them rather than running madly around and exposing themselves to trouble. Haven't found the answer in the sorta manual provided and hoping for help here.

Re: Newbie Question
If you mean Anarchy charges, stick about 7-10 lights(slings bows etc) about a hex or two infront of them until your line is ready to engage. There's a link on this forum for the FOG wiki, check that out. You'll find all you need to know about the game,on there. It was a great help to me,when i first started playing.

Re: Newbie Question
Thx, that is very helpful as I didn't know the term for this undisciplined behavior. Now I can focus on studying the problem and hopefully find a way to discourage it.
Re: Newbie Question
In addition to screening your shock troops (i.e. those prone to anarchy charges) with skirmishers, it's worth noting that drilled shock troops are less prone to anarchy charges, as are troops within command radius. Inspired commanders are the best for preventing anarchy charges, and are even more effective when they are directly adjacent to the shock troops. Lastly, shock troops won't anarchy charge into terrain that disorders them.

Re: Newbie Question
Also, shock troops will anarchy-charge through any friendly troops except other shock troops.
Heavy foot shock troops will anarchy-charge out of terrain into the open. Medium foot shock troops will not anarchy-charge out of terrain into the open (but will charge through rough terrain - so if a MF shock troop is on a clear hex at the top of a steep hill, it will charge down through the steep hill hex against enemy below, so place MF shock troops in the steep hill hexes rather than behind them).
