You should have watched the entire video then. I said that I tried it 20 times without cheating and you see in the other videos what my force was. I was able to upgrade a few more to Panthers and that was it. i was going in with towed artillery, panthers, a jagdpanther at times... those tanks were raped by the allied air force and their tanks. The TDs and M26s one shotted my guys. Protecting them with my fighters early on was not an option either before I had thinned out the allied air force. if I let them spot my fighters too early they'd have my 4 remaining squadrons eliminated in 3 turns.
This wasn't a matter of not having the right stuff. I won this with panthers and fast troops before. but I did it on field marshall, not on rommel, and they were highly experienced troops with overstrength. Not 1-2 star forces, party inexperienced because reinstated after destruction, no overstrength whatsoever and 5 units short of the core limit. And even with those forces I couldn't pull of a DV.
So sorry, this wasn't a question of having the right forces. This was a question of not having enough of them and even then not knowing how to advance fast enough.
As for the cheat... oh please. I explained very well in my video that I cheated so I could at least show of the new units, which a lot of people have probably never seen used in this campaign since they were added with a patch later. I don't think me getting totally wasted 20 times in a row would have made for such a fun video. Of course it's cheating, but I clearly said so and never claimed this was a valid victory. I clearly stated directly at the start that I got my butt kicked and why.

I have watched the entire video. I was only trying to help you finish this scenario with a DV, not to criticize. Why you will not use Flak to deal with the US airforce and enough artillery to properly reduce entrenchments simply confuses me. I know you said you tried some 20 times, which says a lot about your persistence, not to mention your frustration level. We can only judge your attempts from the videos you post after all. Playing at Field Marshal I think is hard enough for me. Thank you for your posting of AARs. I hope you will do Afrika Korps in the future as that I think is the most appropriate place to use the 'Rommel' difficulty level and no one yet has managed to complete the entire campaign.

Flak because I couldn't afford any, artillery because I couldn't afford more. Trust me I would have used more stuff, more AA, more artillery if I had had the prestige. i simply didn't. I had the same force that I had in mid West, minus two pioneers that I had to replace, + 1 more thank that I could upgrade to a panther. That was it. Nothing more. And that wasn't enough. Towed artillery got trashed by the navy and air force and my tanks got ripped apart by the M26s

Hey Joker,

I watched the video and seeing you finish with the "fun units" was interesting. I also noted that you said you tried it ~20 times with variations of your main core and were also unable to finish.

What about trying it with the stock core? It would be interesting to see that attempt on video.

Thanks for the whole series of videos.
