First playthrough feedback

Post by nats »

I've just finished my first play through, on normal difficulty, of the whole present GSA campaign using v0.7.14. It took me about a week's play time (of 2-3 hours a night) to get through it. I had to skip quite a few Gemini missions and rush Apollo at the end of 1974, which eventually ruined my game when I got a series of critical failures.

I had about ten game crashes over that time - most, if not all, of them trying to get back to the map view from the researcher appointment screen, I believe they were. It seemed that as soon as I finished appointing all of my researchers on projects and tried to get back to the space complex that is when the game crashed quite often (once a days playtime generally it seemed). It always crashed back to the start menu though, not to Windows, and I always got back to the previous season, or action just before it crashed, via an autosaved file - once I had noticed that there were autosaves in the game that is.

I never experienced any other major issues other than the odd graphical glitches - mainly the reliableness bars on the research summary screen that you get when you finish a season - and always for the first of any research period on a new item (for example the first research period for the rover would show a glitchy reliability bar in the summary screen and the whole screen would look whiter than normal). All the mission videos I watched were perfect.

Other than the above I cant remember any other bugs at all other than the odd single spelling mistake and the budget bars not quite tying up with my budget figure. So overall that is very good, and I really enjoyed the playthrough.

Now going back to playing a campaign on hard and will try to get onto the moon by end of 1969, to see if it can be done. Wish me luck!

Hello nats,

Thanks for the feedback. Many of the glitches you've found have been sorted, and the solutions will make their way into 0.7.15, which will be released this Friday.

Please feel free to keep reporting errors with the new versions, so that we can log them in the online task system and I can fix them.

Cheers,
