Is it worth buying in its present state?

Post by nats »

I would like to ask present owners if they feel this game is worth buying in its present state or should I hold off for a while? I love space technology and the space race era and am very interested in the whole concept of the game.

I missed the original Buzz Aldrin game for some reason cant think why, although I remember seeing it in the shops. I think being a youngster I was more into Elite, X Wing and Civilization and the like back then. Being older now I appreciate the slightly slower game style.

Anyway I like the look of the game, I will buy it at some point, is there any point in getting it now - ie is it playable or just damn right frustrating at the moment? What about degree of variability? Is it just too easy? Are there many events happening or is it just the same limited set of choices at the moment? Do you get affected by weather or other unpredictable events outside of the launches themselves?

Do you mean you got your moneys worth from the gameplay, or you got your money back ie a refund? If a refund why?

1) Its not too easy, often on the contrary
2) Not yet much n the way of random events (outside mission events)
3) The GSA campaign is playable, but the moon race one is not yet done. Much of the ussr equipment is not yet in the game (bu will be).
4) The mission engine works fine, though details are being fine tuned.
5) Mix&match rockets and payloads option will be in the game, but its still being implemented

Well its probably as I thought then - worth hanging on for the game to be completed for the best experience.

I hate these Early Access things - they make it too easy to buy into an unfinished game too early (like I did with Kerbal Space Program) and then be playing an incomplete, limited experience for ages. If I bought this game now and played it to death, I wonder if I would actually want to play it when it was finished. Will just have to be patient I guess.

Besides my household budget wont allow me to buy a game this month lol!

What the hell I bought it anyway! Looking forward to seeing how the game transpires and perhaps contributing a little bit as well (already mentioned a couple of bugs/suggestions).
