Overrun attacks like PG2???
I just purchased Panzer corps and finished the Poland scenario. My question is I played PG2 for years and one of my favorite things about that game was the "overrun attack", am I missing this somehow in the game or is it not built into the game at all? This game has alot of nice features but its kind of a bummer if it doesn't have that option

Soory, that feature gave the player too much of an advantage.

I think German armor is superior as it is, so overrunning would be just too much... Poor AI would stand no chance.
Re: Overrun attacks like PG2???
I began to feel in PGII that overrun was just too powerful. I was considering tactics that were overcomplicated and unrealistic, just so that I could achieve maximum advantage from overrunning. I really like the way the developers have implemented the game balance in PzCorps.
Favourite Games Before Panzer Corps: Pacific General, People's General, Panzer General II... pure magic!

I miss it too! It was always a blast mopping up a bunch of units with a chain of overrun attacks.wyley187 wrote:... I played PG2 for years and one of my favorite things about that game was the "overrun attack"... its kind of a bummer if it doesn't have that option

I miss the feature too, but Rudankort doesn't like it and, to be fair, PzC is a remake of the 5-star-series, specifically Panzer General, and overrun was only in PG2, which came after this series.
Personally, I'd love to have a TON of additional unit feats which could or could not be used by official units, but Rudankort subscribes to the minimalist school of game design (don't introduce anything you don't absolutely need) ... and this is his game. End of story, I guess.

well after playing awhile and giving it a chance I can say its a nice game with nice features, I especially like the defensive scenarios, but I'll have to retire it for awhile and go back to pg2 with some custom campaigns, I think after playing pg2 for so long I just cant get over not having overrun abilities, just a personal preference I guess.
