Hi
having now played all the Commander games , i really think CNAW has been criticially under appreciated and is a great game for pbem and some of its scenarios are ok but on the whole it seems to have missed all the care given to CEaW and CtGW. Would there ever be the possibility of this game being revisited, redone - even made anew as Commander Napoleon at War 2 - it is perfectly fine with its heavily abstracted system, but needs a more aggressive AI and perhaps more hexes
thanks
Commander Napoleon at War 2?

It's not really in my wheelhouse, but the original team moved on to other things I know. I believe that many others didn't think that the scale was ideal for the period either.
That said, if you want to develop a sequel, then get coding

Re: Commander Napoleon at War 2?
would love to! but got to learn coding first. someone ont he matrix forums was talking about a new patch being made for CNAW.
i think someone should get those guys back - the scale could be just as suitable i think -CNAW has something that at first seems odd but then is quite endearing really and all the factors that are used to determine battle outcomes are impressive. - CtGW and CEaW each have something distinct in that they have the same general design but vary as suits the period - this for CNAW2 would be wonderfully ideal - although the abstraction of CNAW was actually pretty good it would be even more satisfying if the hex density was increased and features like combining infantry cavalry and artillery into a single corps - allow more then one unit per hex - well anyhoo i feel that the potential is certainly there, i guess

Johan/Firepower entertainment was the coder on this and Johan left games about 5-8 years ago after attempting to self publish a game that didn't go well.

It also looks like Commander: Napoleon at War has been pulled off sale and no longer available. At least the Mac version. Although I had a lot of issues with the inaccurate scale of the game, it was still an interesting game and worth a play now and then. I bought my copy from Freeverse long ago and tired to re-install my copy to play it again recently only to discover that it was impossible to do so. My registration code was no longer accepted because it has to be done with Freeverse which no longer exists. So much for owning a game that one has purchased.

"So much for owning a game that one has purchased."
This is precisely why I have never regretted buying from Matrix Games and Slitherine. Ok I might have over spent some years
But every last purchase I have ever made with them, will never suffer from any ill future happening to Slitherine Group.
