Installation file 'not a valid Win32 application"

Post by mnarel »

Need some help. Just purchased, downloaded, and eager to play and can't even get the install file to open. I get the message:

"PanzerCorpsWehrmach-SetupRelease-v100.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

when I try and open the file.

I just spent twenty minutes rooting through support topics and trying things like 'disabling my anti-virus' along with redownloading, all without effect. -have to say that having to disable your antivirus in order to install a game suggests bad things to me about the company providing the game-

I'm running a less than 2 year old intel i7 computer with plenty of ram and a robust graphics card. I use AVG anti-virus and do get a message when downloading the install file:

"Adware Generic5.AGSX"

and a notation that the threat was removed. I get this even when I disable my antivirus, reboot google chrome, and re-download.

I'd rather get this thing working than start screaming for a refund. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with Panzer Corps.
The game file installer is the same since the release two years ago. After two years, AVG decided that it' a virus.
AVG is known to be one of the anti-virus more prone to false positives.
A false positive occurs when the Anti-virus software mistakenly flags an innocent file as being infected:

Completely disable AVG, or even uninstall it, and download the file again and install the game again.
