Bolstering

Post by BrianC »

I was just wondering when Bolstering do you include the situation modifiers? Or just the Current Cohesion State and Commander and Support modifiers? The reason I ask is that I cannot remember who took what where sort of thing. Do I need to write this down at the end of each combat. Or is the situation modifier supposed to be for a phase such as Impact or Melee or JAP? What happened in a prior phase has no bearing on the current one?

Thanks

It is always the situation as it stands on the table at the point you take the CT. There is no need to remember anything or write anything down.

For example if in the shooting phase you have to test and have taken 1Hp2B which gives you -1 on the CT you do not suffer that modifier if you test again for something else later in the turn.

The situational modifier only applies to the associated test.
So if you get shot at by artillery you take a CT @ -1 for shot at by artillery. If another BG breaks as a result of shooting when you test for that you don't suffer the -1 for being shot at by artillery.
When bolstering the -1 for 1HP3B won't apply, but the threatend flank could.

Thanks for that guys. We were adding situation modifiers for everything since it was on the chart and I don't think it said anything explicitly in the rules. When we tried to bolster or rally we would include melee hits etc. This sounds much better and easier.
