combat detail screen on ipad?
How do I get to the combat detail screen on iPad? I've seen screen shots of a detailed combat screen for the PC version, but I can't find the equivalent on the iPad version.
I'm referring to the screen listed in section 6.10 in the rules.
Thanks!
PS: I've only played a few scenarios but I really like everything I've seen so far!

Thanks for your kind words. Extended combat screen is one of a few things which did not get into iPad version yet, but we hope to include it in a future update. BTW, any suggestions regarding the way to invoke this on iPad?

How about in response to a two finger tap gesture on the sidebar's unit info panel, at any time when it shows both the attacking and defending units?Rudankort wrote:Thanks for your kind words. I think the 2 finger approach would work. Another option is adding an icon to click on...I'm split on which I prefer. The icon is always visible so people that don't do the tutorial will still see it, whereas they probably wouldn't think to do the 2 finger tap unless explicitely told about the option (but it's less clutter on the screen).mysticfm wrote:How about in response to a two finger tap gesture on the sidebar's unit info panel, at any time when it shows both the attacking and defending units?Rudankort wrote:Thanks for your kind words. By the way, while we're talking about the UI...is there an easy way to see when I've used all of the action points (move and fire) for all of my units?

If you have moved all units, next unit button becomes grayed. Otherwise you can use it to cycle between units which have not yet moved.Ron42na wrote:By the way, while we're talking about the UI...is there an easy way to see when I've used all of the action points (move and fire) for all of my units?

Hi all, I'd like to vote for icon over two finger...
I'm addicted to using a stylus for selection on iPad..
Brilliant game, loving it!

I don't have an ipad, but think that the icon would be easier (maybe above the unit when selecting to attack? - screenshot below would explain what I mean, but the screen is taken from the PC version)
Any chance that either of these options could be included in an update to the PC version as well?

I can understand that as a reason to opt for an icon. I could accept that UI, but I'd still be more in favor of the two finger gesture for the following three reasons (in descending order of importance):Eldrane wrote:Hi all, I'd like to vote for icon over two finger...

1) Those little buttons can get awfully hard to hit for people who use fingers on their iPad (which I am pretty certain is still the vast majority). For example, I struggle mightily to hit that "Compare" checkbox on the unit purchase/upgrade screens … I often have to try to hit it up to ten times before I manage to touch exactly the right spot to toggle the checkbox. The more buttons that are added, the smaller those touch regions need to be, and hence the harder they are to use.
2) The combat odds button would only be enabled a small fraction of the time … the rest of the time, it is just clutter on the screen and wasted space.
3) The level of detail in that dialog might be too daunting for some of the more casual players, so by "hiding" it under a two finger gesture, only the people who are actually interested in seeing that level of detail will encounter it. That doesn't matter much to me as a relatively hardcore player who would love to see this info, but Slitherine most likely has to think about other types of players as well.

I agree that an icon would be the best choice I think rather than multi finger gestures

Re: combat detail screen on ipad?
The double-tap idea feels very unnatural. I wouldn’t use it much.
An icon wouldn’t have to be stuffed into the current sidebar – it could be an icon that pops up on the screen somewhere near the combat. That’d certainly be visible. I’d prefer a rectangular message box with the text “Combat Details” in the upper right hand corner of the map or overlaying the minimap.
Or make it a tab inside in the unit info – make it the default tab when your unit is next to an enemy unit. That way a single tap on the unit info in the sidebar is enough, and if you want to review a unit’s stats before a battle you’re probably interested in the combat details (whatever they are – I’m not familiar with the PC version).
