How do I close programs...?

How do I close programs...?

I assumed once a successful mission was done it would close but it doesn't seem to be that way. Can someone please tell what thing I'm missing that is possibly very obvious?

Very :) in the overview of open missions next to the missions is an x button that you can click to close them :)
