I am looking at putting together a Japanese Army, need an Eastern army sometime, Looked at Museum miniatures, which seem reasonable, also looked at Two Dragons from Cavalier but very little choice as far as I could see. Don't know about any others or even ability to mix between manufacturers.
Any comments help gratefully received.

Re: 15mm Samurai
I've not seen the Museum ones (other than in pictures), but they look like they could mix with the Dixon (Two Dragons) ones. Irregular also do a Samurai range that looks like it should be compatible in terms of size/build but may lack some of the detail of Museum/Dixon.
Essex have a range but it's earlier than the Renaissance period. You might find it helpful if you want any unarmoured types. They also do Ninjas if you want to get creative with some ambush markers. Style wise they'd be compatible with those above.
Outpost have a relatively recent Samurai Range of appropriate period. There isn't a huge variety but I've been pleased with the service I've had from them and thoroughly recommend them as someone to deal with. If cost is an issue, you can't go wrong with 50 figs for £12, smaller packs are available. I'mm not sure about mixing them with the ones above as the casting detail looks to be a little more prominent
Peter Pig do a Renaissance period range but I wouldn't mix them with the Dixon/Museum/Irregular/Essex types. They'd probably be OK with the Outpost ones. They also have some "Fantasy" Samurai who have some interesting alternative weapons (such as the Tetsubo, a big studded club) and the odd severed head on a stick.
Black Hat also do a range, but, like Essex it's probably too early. Stylistically it would fit OK with Peter Pig.

Re: 15mm Samurai
The Two Dragons one I think are quite short, so might not work with Museum. I'm also not sure how you can describe the range in lacking in options, unless Caliver are not making them all?

Museum are head and shoulders bigger than Two Dragons.

Eureka, by and far the best I've seen. I do like Two Dragon too, but I think the Eureka are superior.benjones1211 wrote:I am looking at putting together a Japanese Army, need an Eastern army sometime, Looked at Museum miniatures, which seem reasonable, also looked at Two Dragons from Cavalier but very little choice as far as I could see. Re: 15mm Samurai
The lacking in choice of Two Dragons/Dixons was down to me having problems with their website. Got that sorted. Plenty of choice. Just no pictures, I do like to see what I am buying.
Peter Pig where interesting because already had Sashimono attached, but hate their Ashigaru with spears.
Looked at Outpost definitely cheap and cheerful.
Also Museum which looked good, both armored and unarmored Ashigaru
Looked at Eureka, they look good, but no Lance armed although could use Naginata instead.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
