Hello,

I want to built up a new type of assault engineers. That unit is like the Brückenpioniere but with more power! Flamethrower (frontside of the soldier group!), eventually some explosive charges or a light machine gun. For a better difference I gave them rubber boats and helmets. The camo color is not finished. We could make them also multiswitchable for an attack from the seaside: Let them go to water with the rubber boats at a specific piont from a save coast area and then go to the enemy town (without the dangerous frontline at land). Ambush attack!

What do you mean, any further suggestions?

I'm happy you guys (mostly asuser) aren't mad at me for messing with the icons.
If my work can help speed up whatever work you still want to do with them, all the better.

After a long time of disengagement I made a new prototype of a AT unit. In my "spare part container" there was a very first version of the Mercedes L4500 R Maultier. For the further work I hope I have the permission from Bebro to take his beautiful updated Flak 41 in AT mode. To put that mighty weapon on the L4500R I have to decide for the different game modes. For mode one you have the transport function with the elevated side boards and mode two there is the battle or attack mode. For these modes you could also change the values at the eqp file. For the battle mode you can also add some grenades, ammuntion boxes or other things to make the look more interesting. I know, heavy weapons on a self propelled vehicel uses also a sheltered/hardened drivers cabin. So it is only the prototype:

What do you think, any additional ideas?

It is a really nice, detailed one (again), just the different angle - compared to vanilla - will not fit for everybody.

For the cold winter month you need a special heat machine:

Panzer III M Flamethrower. I made a new chain gear, flame tube, exhauster, skirts with cutting edges and new german crosses. Here are two examples:

Hello Guille: Somebody asked for that? Hopefully you don't made it also. Additional you could add some of the tiny flames, if you like it...

Have fun!

Hi BNC,

I'm glad that you like the new stuff!

From your list I can deliver some units, so give me a little time for construction...

Oh and...please download the whole arsenal short before the 8th, because sometimes I observe small mistakes or ugly pixels on my icons...

I give you the "Finish" signal, if I'm ready ok?

Hello BNC,

here comes some new stuff for your WWI mod:

French Nieuport 17:

German Reconnaissance Balloon:
Ger_ReccBalloon.png

I'm afraid with your publishing day (10th April), so I can't fullfill your wish list completely...

But on my workbench lays some more stuff:

-Nieuport 23
-SE 5
-Sopwith Camel
-DH 2
-Albatros C V
-Heavy mortars/mine thrower Ger/GB
-Ships
-AEG Bomber
-Fokker D VII
-...

I think, in the next 2..3 weeks you can get more of them...and for the next update of your mod we can include the missing stuff well.

Greetings!

Feedback welcome! :)

Sure, nice work on those WWI planes! The style, angle of view, shadow, etc, all look spot on. I also like the German recon balloon, hope to see an Entente one as well soon.

In case you do not know guille made a Fokker Dr.I and D.III in a very similar style, so those are ready to fly:

http://slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... &start=100

and he also made excellent German A7V tank and British Mark I-IV. Maybe you could cooperate to avoid working on the same units.

And I guess it would be nice to post these WWI icons in one topic to make everyone's life easier.

Thanks Mac for the nice concepts about those icons! I specially like how the A7V looks! :-)
BNC, the modder behind the WWI Kaiserchlacht mod sometime ago opened a thread to upload WWI unit icons, but I think it got buried in the second (or lower) page of the forums, maybe it's time to update that thread to organize things a little...
