Some advice with purchasing

Post by LandMarine47 »

Which game should I but for Christmas Time, Allied Corps, Afrika Korps, or the Grand Campaign? I want something that will have lots of replay value and fun.

I think that the best would be the Grand Campaign from 39 until 42. After that and you get mauled!

Also consider getting Afrikakorps, even though it has a very limited campaign path.

But you can always modify campaign path quite easily...

The way I see it is:
Play Recon in Force to Gazala (1 possible path),
then go for Malta or not (2)
Win or Lose Alam el Halfa, go to Suez or Tunisia (4)
If Tunisian path: end campaign (4)
If Ahistorical path: possibility for Caucasus or not (5?)
Get to India (5?)
Lose somewhere and end campaign early (6?)

6 Paths is not very many, as I think the vanilla campaign has at least 6 before you even invade Russia (Norway, No Norway, Sealion and Greece, Sealion and no Greece, No Sealion, etc.) and if you go as far as '45, there are probably 20+ ways to go through it, not to mention starting in '41 and '43

Buy yourself some of Close Combat re-releases for a change of pace. :)

You should take into consideration that Afrika Corps takes part in the Holyday Sale: viewtopic.php?f=121&t=46635.

I have been reluctant to buy such a short campagain after having played the GC, but it is only 13 $ now - less than 10 Euro.
