[Graphics] Visualization

Post by GovernorEgo »

Currently playing in 1920x1080 in Full Screen mode. This shows an inconsistent view of some of the screens.

In the intro screen the layout is in 16:9 filled out by the nice images.
Once you get into the game the "Space Complex" screen is in 4:3 configuration with big black bars at the sides.
The various "Building" screens (such as the Headquarters, SET Center, Flight Control Center, etc.) are in 16:9 again with the Blue image background spacing off the 4:3 center "window".
The "Mission Control" screens are in 4:3 with the various moving parts moving outside of the 4:3 box area in overlaying the outside area as per the image below.

jpagouv.home.xs4all.nl/mission-control.png (Forum is not allowing me to post the image, so I'll just post the location of it).

An elegant suggestion for he "Mission Control" screen would be to employ the same technique as the "Building" screens by extending the blue "background" image beyond the 4:3 area into the 16:9 area. That should cover up the images going off. Not sure what that would look like though.

The "Space Complex" screen would be more difficult to fix due to the 4:3 nature of the main area. Don't know how difficult it would be to have separate layouts for 4:3 and 16:9.

Hello GovernorEgo,

Welcome to the forums! Notice that the game currently supports 1024x768 only, although we are definitely going to support widescreen resolutions at a later stage. We're focusing on gameplay elements and content for the moment :)

Cheers,
