BHGS Events in 2014

Post by madaxeman »

In an astonishing development which has about it a rather unaccustomed whiff of competence, all three BHGS Singles events for 2014 have dates, venues and are now available for players to sign up to on the BHGS website.

Running down the calendar for 2014 we have for your delight and delectation;

The BHGS Challenge - Oxford running over the weekend of 5th-6th April just before Easter on the Wheatley Campus of Oxford Brookes University just outside Oxford. The BHGS Challenge is our second largest tournament of the year, with a 5-round (3 + 2 Sat/Sun) "Any Army, 1570-1629" themed FoGR competition. Online booking is now open with an entry fee of £30.

Roll Call - Cranfield, taking place over the weekend of 21st-22nd June at the same venue as last year, the Holywell Middle School. Roll Call will have 2 FoG:R competitions both playing 4 games, with a themed 15mm period ("Eastern Takeaway") and a 25/8mm Open competition as well.

Roll Call is the Official BHGS "Big Boy's Toys" event of the year, meaning that Roll Call will be the only event where we are looking to run a 25/8mm competition, so if you want to wheel out the big toys at least once, this is the place for you! Booking is now openfor both 15mm and 25/8mm periods, with an entry fee of £19

Britcon - The largest event in the BHGS calendar will be returning to the now-familiar surroundings of UMIST in (always-sunny) Manchester over the Friday-Sunday of 8-10th August 2014. At Britcon 2014 there will be our traditional big Open FoGR period running over 6 games (1/3/2) and retaining the "drop your worst score" system from 2013. Booking is now open with entry priced at £50 (although it's pretty much guaranteed that the Britcon Fiver will return in 2014, so you will get £5 off any trader purchase as part of your entry fee too).

So, book early so you don't accidentally run out of money at Christmas and miss out !
