Game Settings Modding?

I wondered if I was missing where I could adjust the default settings on the game selector, such as: leaving out a specific faction; playing with high alien aggression; playing with a certain number of tech tree levels visible; playing with research off; etc.

I would like to be able to load up the game and have my selections already showing. I tend to test things out by doing one particular strategy over and over.

I am on XP. Is there a file with the default settings I can change? Looked all over and can't find it.

Is there a way to change the AI's morale bonus based on difficulty level? I can't find it anywhere

Using the Config files in the User folders yields mixed results.

Seems as if only the Pandora.XML can be modified for effects in game. The PandoraServer.XML seems to yield no results.

Unfortunately some settings such as temperature and revealed techs are only found in the PandoraServer.XML. Is there a way to get changes in PandoraServer.XML into the game? The game seems to ignore anything I do in PandoraServer and if I try to add any of the desired fields into the regular Pandora.XML, the game erases it.

For example, I added a line RevealedResearchTiers in the Pandora.XML to see if that would alter my beginning settings, but the game erased the entry entirely. Is there a way around this? Yet?

I noticed in the XML files a "Fish" resource that give 3 food bonus.

Haven't seen a fish icon or a food bonus anywhere in any water over dozens of games. Is it in the game yet? Just deactivated?
