Hi, is it possible to add animated PNGs to GUI elements that will play in game?

Not sure about animated PNG, but since much of the GUI is html based you could try to convert the anim you want into GIF. IIRC DMP used animated maps in briefings in a mod, haven't checked their file format though.

The weather icon is animated.
At Ostfront some graphics in briefing screen are animated (battle map). It is also possible for deploy and newturn screen.
If you like, you could add videos started from a GUI element (available from the briefing window)

Hey, it works! Thanks for answers. I have added combat footage in the UI, a la Pacific General. If you want to try it, just extract the archive in the UI folder (backup first)

For now, the combat footage is from 1939 only (for the 39 DLC), but I plan to create a footage for each year.
