Great thank you to Tim Childs and the Wargames Association of Reading for a great competition.
Thanks to my 4 opponents (Richard, Steve, Paul and Lance) for wonderful games even if I lost all of them.

Re: Warfare 2013
Another very enjoyable Warfare - thanks Tim!
I was a bit dubious about the theme but the mix of armies worked really well. I had 4 very enjoyable games vs Rob, Paul, Dave & Phil, all played in an excellent spirit - thanks guys.
Mr Ruddock tried to avoid his defeat by turning up late and pretending to be the umpire at every opportunity but to no avail - another great game though Dave - thanks.
Sadly I can't make Usk next year so it will be a long wait to the Challenge before I get my next run out.

I'm not entirely certain how much Mr Taylor enjoyed himself though

Re: Warfare 2013
Comedy moment for me was Pete saying he didn't like Knight on Knight dice fests but went for it anyway.
Result of the impact was 6-4 to me.
Pete went disrupted and lost a base (obviously).
He then needed a 12 to kill my general, and did.
So then I disrupted
Melee phase 6 dice to 4 in my favour
I do 3 hits, Pete does 4.
I fragment and lose a base.
Pete rolls a one for the death roll.
I need a 12 to kill Pete's general and do. Pete fragments.
Next turn things go to plan, 3 dice to 2
2 hits to 1.
Pete loses a base and breaks
Pure skill
The game was a ten all draw. But that doesn't tell the whole story, I lost 9 of 12 and Pete lost 8 of 11. Great fun.

Re: Warfare 2013
Mr Taylor never wants to be reminded of his Warfare 2013 performance again.
Thanks to Pete, Nik and Dave for the games I lost too.
Got home at 10.45pm last night and spent an hour poring over what my list could have been.
Thanks Pete for the helpful insights.

Re: Warfare 2013
From the glory of champion to the depths of despair in one smooth season.
Been there Rob, as I said 3 years ago I came top at Roll Call (DBMM) and Steve Bainbridge second. 2 years ago we were duking it out on bottom table in the final round...

Re: Warfare 2013
It certainly was Phil - and it reinforced my view that knight on knight action is to be avoided unless I can frag you first or come in with a flank charge soon after. The game was a ten all draw. But that doesn't tell the whole story, I lost 9 of 12 and Pete lost 8 of 11. Great fun.
I did however take lots of good learning points from our game - not least the folly of taking on longbowmen when they have wall to wall fields. With the benefit of hindsight a flank march may have been a good idea?

Re: Warfare 2013
Sorry all - I sent the results out last Sunday and have been away all weekend at my father-in-law's hospital bedside, so didn't notice that those are 2012...
I have the 2013 results - contact me on my usual email address (t_and_e.child@tiscali.co.uk) if you would like a set of results, or even better if you can work out a good way to publish them here...
