Differences between similar programs

Post by peyre »

Coming into the game cold, I was unclear on what exactly distinguishes programs that accomplish the same types of things. For instance, why choose Sputnik versus Explorer? I see there's a rundown on costs, which includes any related hardware (e.g., rocket) you've already invested in--so you can tell there's a little difference in cost. But is that it, or are there differences in reliability? Does US vs. Soviet hardware sort of "track" you in terms of which type rockets you'll be using in the game? Is the Explorer able to perform more or different missions than Sputnik?

Maybe in later betas, or the final version, the differences could be made more clear--either in the program, or in the game manual.

Hello peyre,

Welcome to the forums. Indeed, we still need to adjust the values in the game so that there's an actual decision to be made in terms of opening one vs the other. You'll start getting that in future betas.
