Cannot launch new game

I can get to the game's main menu successfully, but as soon as I try to start a new game and it moves to the "Initializing..." screen, the game gets an error and has to shut down.

I have fully updated my graphics drivers, and have tried disabling anti-virus/firewall, all to no avail. I am running Windows 7 Home Edition 32-bit, and am using an AMD Radeon HD 5900 series video card, if that helps. I've also tried both the release and beta versions of the game client, and the result is the same.

For some reason the forums won't let me upload .txt files (or .log files, or files with no extension for that matter). It also won't let me paste the contents into this post ("looks too spammy for a new user, please remove on-site URLS"), so I've hosted the contents of the error log here:
