Setting up heroes - editor question

I never tried to pre-set heroes in the editor. Is it actually possible to give heroes to AI units?

When pressing the hero button of a unit's info window, everything seems pretty easy - looks like I just have to enter the guy's name, pic name, and his stats/bonuses.

However, when I do that and press ok, and then the hero button again all entries are gone? Is this normal, or what am I doing wrong?

(This occurs when trying it with an AI unit - no idea if it's different with player's units. When testing, I also left out the entry for the hero picture - if that plays any role).

I had the same problem upon a time, with the hero stats vanishing. I then found out that the image, the name must end on .png. In short, an image name is compulsory.

Visconti hero will never show up unless you put the image in the hero folder.

The data will work, but no picture. Be sure to upload a picture of your favorite Disney figure.

I encountered earlier also problems with heroes and also with the gamer's hero - after editing it - disappeared the stats when something was missing. Now it is clear that that the .png must be there.
