29.1 observations first game

Launched Pandora and got a small .1 upgrade. Its very early in the game, but here are some differences I have noticed.

My landing site was not on a shoreline as has always been before. The landscape was much more lush; my previous landings were nearly always surrounded by barren hexes.
The landscape is teaming with life much more so that previously.
I am sometimes able to enter hexes with alien life without conflict. They also pass through my occupied hexes without attacking sometimes. This is great. Every encounter is not
necessarily a battle.
I started a colony on a hill...could I do that before? I don't remember.

I don't mention any of this as problematic, on the contrary, Its all very good.
