Rout/Evade shift question

Post by stevoid »

Apologies if this has been answered before or I can't read the nice diagrams...

When routers/evaders encounter obstructing friendly troops the whole BG can shift up to one base sideways to try and get past them.

Also, providing they do not shift more than one base width sideways, bases that can't get past can be moved to the rear of bases that have been able to complete their evade move.

Is this "falling in behind" in addition to shifting the whole BG sideways, i.e. if the BG has been shifted sideways to allow some bases to clear an obstruction, can other bases that still can't clear shift some more when being moved to the rear, or is it an either/or: shift the whole BG if that gets all of it past the obstruction, or fall in behind those bases (if any) that are already able to move past the obstruction, but not both.

Cheers,

Steve

No its either or by base - so a base that has shifted cannot fall back behind.

Phew, that's how we played it, but as it cause my opponent to have two BGs of knights disrupted I wanted to make absolutely sure we got it right.

Moral of the story, leave room for runners and routers!
