FoG Hit Results

I noticed something today in a hit result that I had never seen. A "1" counted as a hit.

Here is the screen:

A: [None, POA=1, die=3,3,2,3 hits=]
+1 Off.Sp or Pike, strength > 50%; charging foot, Not Fr

D: [None, POA=1, die=6,1,4,5, hits =4]

Can anyone explain this one? (pun intended)

I suspect the defender had bows and as such roll two additional dice on impact which aren't displayed in the results.
